Please-Iah Rakyat: One Slap

Slapstick

The National Transformation 2050 or TN50 Dialogue for the entertainment industry presented some spectacular first-hand action both live and on social media recently. The superb display of skills from local artists performing without a storyline, dialogue scripts, screenplay or direction created some great entertainment on the go.

This was a feat, almost identical, but still only second to the style and scruples that powered our politics. It was simply an overdose of raw talent at its best that Malaysians are known to have in abundance and a performance that had our entire nation pay tribute in a standing ovation. A slapstick comedy performed by characters with glamorous stage names like Mat Over, TEOCEO and the accidental appearance by our own Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak made it a night to remember. A peep or a real-time vision of what entertainment is going to be like in 2050, on and off stage, and the silver screen inclusive, was slapped on live, by a daring skit of a work over on TEOCEO by Mat Over. One SLAP! That brought on the real applause was when everything became silent even long after the security team broke up the two. Now, whoever said that you could never clap with one hand, never knew that a slap on the face was more effective and louder than any audience putting their hands together, making it the ultimate applause and a deafening one zinging the ear.

Our poor Prime Minister a talented politician not losing his composure locked on to a frozen smile, but unfortunately, the red cheeks were a dead giveaway of extreme embarrassment and coupled with the fact of not knowing what in hells name was going on. The chapter ended with our fair Prime Minister regaining his colour after successfully getting the two, to kiss and make up, and the forum back on track again pretending like nothing happened.

Fortunately for show business, the act has now become a serial initiated by a certain group of our Rakyat trying to produce a sequel with a vigilante, ultimatum style called RE-SLAP. The cast for RE-SLAP only retains TEOCEO as its main star and for some reason; Mat Over and the PM have been given a leave of absence due to budget constraints and are strategized to sit this sequel out. The storyline is the real and present danger of TEOCEO being promised of being machine slapped if an ultimatum given to him is ignored.

Just microwave the popcorn and enjoy the show.

Colours of a Peacock

Colours of a Peacock Nestled deep in an oil palm plantation in the humble town of Maran in central West Malaysia, is a century-old Hindu temple that rears peacocks. The peacock is considered sacred because mythology has it that it is the preferred mode of transportation of Lord Subramanian, who is also the patron deity of worship in the said temple. The peacock never seems to amaze me with its awesome coat of colours that it wears, especially when it fans out its feathers in a courtship ritual. What truly inspires me from this, is to appreciate the finer details of every colour application that exists around us.  There is not a single thing in nature that is off colour or coloured in bad taste, it simply means that God has coloured everything we see meticulously with perfect design and taste. We are then, only left with the task to view, appreciate, replicate and occasionally write about it in absolution. EDit. This picture was taken during a visit to Maran Maruth...

Synchronicity (Video)

Eashwer Dass Synchronicity This is an experiment of removing the original soundtrack of three different Indian classical dances and replacing it with only one randomly chosen soundtrack. The outcome is quite amazing, it is almost as if there is an auto choreographic built-in mechanism that magically synchronises the two almost perfectly. EDit.

Two African Women Rebranded

NOT TRUE This is an awesome portrait of two beautiful women on the cover page of an elite fashion magazine featuring the untapped beauty of the African continent and her people. Both women are highly acclaimed professional models, bathed in the finest branded perfume, masked in branded makeup, wearing a fine collection of branded non-precious contemporary jewellery and cloaked in trendy summer wear.  And that's just nonsense! THE TRUTH These two African women woke up this morning and promised that they would live life to its fullest as they do every day, as simply as they breathe the crisp Ethiopian air. BEAUTIFUL Dressed in their pleasant hand woven garb and donning local handcrafted colourful adornments wrapped around limbs and neck they set off to catch a bus into their local village town.  EDit .
