Please-Iah Rakyat: Unbecoming of Zaman

POSTED ONMAY 20, 2017 BY ADMIN

An ERA unbecoming

The recent tragedy of a young educationist, who was possessed by a pretty spirit, managed to steal the pretty spirit’s fragile wand of faith and use it as a ladle to stir the huge pot of local political lava.

Malaysia, blessed with a landscape absent of volcanoes, which therefore necessitates Malaysians, to concoct lava artificially with the aid of some warped imagination which needs to be constantly stirred to satiate the binge for unrest.

The well-read lecturer, who is also the head of the political faculty of a known University, was inspired by the spiritual motivation of the pretty spirit’s success after he read pretty’s book.

His admiration for her devout aspirations of her ‘Becoming’ was curdled as soon as his unbecoming became evident and he smeared her on Facebook.

Instead of visiting a Bomoh to exorcise the residing spirit in him, he visits a police station to lodge a police complaint to throw the book at pretty.

In his report, he claimed that pretty’s book contained too many biblical references with the intention to proselytise unwary readers including poor him.

Of late, local academicians have been in the limelight of being caught clad in only their boxers entertaining the Rakyat by ridiculing themselves as keepers of the crest of knowledge.

The thinning tolerance for cultural and religious diversity is showing signs of moving toward an irreversible threshold which is further catalysed by boxer clad academicians.

Let Hannah become Hannah, let Zaman keep up with the time we live in and let our children, regardless faith, culture, mother tongue live peacefully and in harmony as Malaysians forever.

Colours of a Peacock

Colours of a Peacock Nestled deep in an oil palm plantation in the humble town of Maran in central West Malaysia, is a century-old Hindu temple that rears peacocks. The peacock is considered sacred because mythology has it that it is the preferred mode of transportation of Lord Subramanian, who is also the patron deity of worship in the said temple. The peacock never seems to amaze me with its awesome coat of colours that it wears, especially when it fans out its feathers in a courtship ritual. What truly inspires me from this, is to appreciate the finer details of every colour application that exists around us.  There is not a single thing in nature that is off colour or coloured in bad taste, it simply means that God has coloured everything we see meticulously with perfect design and taste. We are then, only left with the task to view, appreciate, replicate and occasionally write about it in absolution. EDit. This picture was taken during a visit to Maran Maruth...

Synchronicity (Video)

Eashwer Dass Synchronicity This is an experiment of removing the original soundtrack of three different Indian classical dances and replacing it with only one randomly chosen soundtrack. The outcome is quite amazing, it is almost as if there is an auto choreographic built-in mechanism that magically synchronises the two almost perfectly. EDit.

Two African Women Rebranded

NOT TRUE This is an awesome portrait of two beautiful women on the cover page of an elite fashion magazine featuring the untapped beauty of the African continent and her people. Both women are highly acclaimed professional models, bathed in the finest branded perfume, masked in branded makeup, wearing a fine collection of branded non-precious contemporary jewellery and cloaked in trendy summer wear.  And that's just nonsense! THE TRUTH These two African women woke up this morning and promised that they would live life to its fullest as they do every day, as simply as they breathe the crisp Ethiopian air. BEAUTIFUL Dressed in their pleasant hand woven garb and donning local handcrafted colourful adornments wrapped around limbs and neck they set off to catch a bus into their local village town.  EDit .
